Payton Talbott has finally reacted to his loss.
Ultra hyped Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) prospect Talbott suffered his professional loss at UFC 311 this past weekend (Sat., Jan. 18, 2025) when he got out wrestled by crafty UFC veteran Raoni Barcelos losing a lopsided unanimous decision inside Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California.
Talbott's loss was shocking as he was a -1100 betting favorite over Barcelos and was expected to shine.
After four days, Talbott took to his social media to release a statement.
"The vet gave me my first scar," Talbott wrote. May the skin heal itself to be strong and never split again. lucky to have such people in my life. fortunate to be able to learn valuable lessons. still had fun."
There is no doubt that Talbott's loss was eyebrow raising but it's not the first time an super hyped undefeated prospect ran into a fighter with much more experience and loss their '0'. It will be very fascinating to see how the 26-year-old Bantamweight will respond to his first loss.
But more than anything, Barcelos has created the blueprint to defeat Talbott - avoid his knockout power and take him down.
Nevertheless, before UFC 311 Talbott had won his first three UFC fights, including a 19-second knockout of Yanis Ghemmouri at UFC 303 (watch highlights).
