The April 26th UFC event in Kansas City just got a new main event.

Welterweight contender Ian Machado Garry takes on the red hot Carlos Prates in the new headliner. Former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill was originally slate to face Khalil Rountree Jr. in the fight card's featured fight but Hill was forced out of the bout due to injury. The fight promotion announced the news on Tuesday.

Machado Garry (15-1) suffered his first career loss in his last outing, losing to Shavkat Rakhamonov by decision at UFC 310 in December. Ranked No. 7 in the welterweight division, Machado Garry will be looking to rebound from the loss and solidify his place in the rankings.

Prates (21-6) will enter the main event at T-Mobile Center ranked No.13. The Brazilian is riding an incredible 11-fight winning streak with 10 of the 11 wins have been by knockout. "The Nightmare" hasn't tasted defeat since June 2019.

The event will mark the promotion's third visit to Kansas City. With the new headliner, UFC Kansas City fight card includes:
