Since 2022, OktagonMMA has taken Germany by storm. Oktagon MMA first arrived in Germany, with an event in Frankfurt, headlined by Losene Keita and Ivan Buchinger. On the card, were German MMA legends like Stefan Puetz and Martin Zawada, and one of the most followed people in Germany, Christian Eckerlin.

But why has Oktagon MMA captivated Germany in the way it has? The reason why, is they provide the fans with the fights, and fighters that they want to see perform on the biggest stage. OktagonMMA has given birth to superstars like Deniz Ilbay and Max Holzer, who coincidently headline the Oktagon 69 card this weekend in Dortmund, Germany.
With matchups like that, they sell out arenas like the UFC, without trying. In October 2024, Oktagon MMA shattered MMA records, by selling out the Deutsche Bank Park, in Frankfurt, Germany. The attendance for Oktagon 62 was 59,148 fans. It was an absurd event, headlined by two of the biggest stars in German MMA, Christian Eckerlin and Christian Jungwirth. Also on the card, was Max Coga, who set the crowd on fire when he walked out in front of the 59,148 fans in attendance
At Oktagon 62, Oktagon MMA crowned Christian Eckerlin as the “King of Germany” after his dominant win over Jungwirth. Carrying that momentum into 2025, they have already sold out 3 events in Germany, with Oktagon73 in June, already being on the brink of being sold out, with only one fight being announced, that being Eckerlin v Pukac.
For a long time in Germany, promotions like GMC or WeLoveMMA struggled to sell out small venues, because they couldn’t market their events to large crowds. Oktagon MMA grew their brand in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, already captivating European MMA fans, and then expanded into Germany, and booking shows in their biggest arenas, that no MMA events could ever do.
In the events themselves, the product that is on display cannot be missed. If you live in Germany, you have to attend an OktagonMMA show. From top to bottom of the fight card, the fights are excellent, displaying the top German MMA talent, and providing fans with five to six hours of edge-of-your-seat entertainment.
With Oktagon69 this weekend, OktagonMMA looks to continue its rise on the German MMA scene, as well as on the European stage. You could very well see OktagonMMA come to a city near you if you live in Europe.
