Ben Shalom Reacts To Turki Alalshikh and Dana White's New TKO Boxing League

Essentially the two look to bring together a lot of things in boxing in a UFC type of boxing league in a game changer.

It will be further revealed in 2025 and 2026 as time goes in — in a very exciting time of excellent constant improvement for the sport from here on in.

Speaking to Boxing News, Boxxer’s promoter Ben Shalom firstly said:

“I think it’s good. The more investment, the better. I was concerned in the U.S. when you saw all the U.S. broadcasters pulling out—genuinely, that’s not good for boxing. We want more broadcasters staying in the sport, and we need more investment going into it. I think the U.S. probably needs it even more than the U.K. right now. The U.K. is thriving between ourselves, Queensberry, and Matchroom—the amount of fights being made constantly, and the collaboration between promoters too. I think it’s in a really good place. I was speaking with Eddie earlier because I had two fights announced. He said they haven’t got any idea if they’ll be involved in the Boxing League—they’re obviously open to it, but they haven’t had those discussions yet.”

He then added on Boxxer being a part of what is happening:

“Yeah, I think talks will start to happen over the next couple of weeks, and we’ll see. But there’s so much going on—Riyadh Season, The Ring, the WBC Grand Prix, this, and more things being planned. As long as the investment keeps coming and the broadcasters keep working in boxing, everyone’s going to win. I think Gareth was just saying there were 60 boxing events this weekend across the world. It’s a massive sport, and we’ve got a lot of people to serve.”

When you touch on some of what Shalom says there, it gives you an insight into just how big boxing has become now.

60 events just this weekend in professional boxing right across the world.

That is so many it is impossible to keep up on it all from Boxing News and Views’ or anyone else’ perspective, but things of note are always prioritized.

It shows you the upside for boxing in so many ways as well that has not even been tapped into yet.

The sport is getting huge and it needs more to be done to unify all those events every weekend with more TV companies, streaming companies and others working together as time goes on.
