Athena On Making ROH History – 'I Thank The Minions, The Trolls And Every Hussy'

ROH Women’s World Champion Athena is relishing in making history once again after becoming the longest-reigning ROH Champion ever.

Last week, Athena surpassed Samoa Joe to have the longest reign in ROH’s 22-year history. Her title reign currently sits at 648 days and counting.

On Twitter, Athena responded to her accolade. She wrote,

“I have tried to write this a billion times and figure out the right words to say and i still dont think i know what to say… But it boils down to this I am thankful for my minions that have supported me. I am thankful for all the trolls that give me the motivation to prove them wrong. I am thankful to every hussy I have beaten along the way to show everyone that I am the THE BEST IN THE WORLD!!!! With love and anger, Athena.”

Athena’s reign began at ROH Final Battle in December 2022 and saw her dethrone Mercedes Martinez to capture the gold.

In addition to her history-making accolade, Athena also holds the distinction of having held the ROH Women’s World Title longer than all previous champions combined.

Athena’s most recent title defense saw her defeat Queen Aminata at ROH Death Before Dishonor in July of this year.
