Zachary Wentz reflects on his WWE release.

Wentz, formerly known as Nash Carter in WWE, was released in 2022 in the midst of abuse allegations from Kimber Lee and the resurfacing of a picture that showed him seemingly mimicking Hitler. Wentz has since landed in TNA, where he won the TNA X-Division Championship. He has also returned to NXT through their crossover with TNA.

Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Zachary Wentz looked back on his release.

“I really thought that I was never going to wrestle again,” Zachary Wentz said. “it was pretty dark, but at the same time, you can't live in that misery. You right your wrongs, you pick yourself up, you go through that whole process.”

Wentz then noted that he shifted his focus to working hard so he could potentially earn a second chance. He said that “people see your heart” and know you who are. He also stated that he had been in contact with Shawn Michaels since his release.

“Me and Shawn have been in contact since everything, he's been very good at checking on me,” he said.

Zachary Wentz will face Wes Lee in a grudge match on the October 1 episode of WWE NXT.

WrestleZone will have coverage of WWE NXT as it airs on Tuesday.
