Oba Femi On The WWE Transfer Portal: As Much As I Want To Leave, I Feel Like I Have A Lot To Offer NXT
Yesterday at 11:00 AM
Oba Femi is ready to step up to WWE RAW or SmackDown if the opportunity presents itself.
WWE NXT Superstar Oba Femi was a recent guest on The Ringer Wrestling Show. When asked if he has any interest in walking through the Transfer Portal to RAW or SmackDown in the coming weeks, Femi admitted he was interested but he also is interested in becoming NXT Champion and leading the brand he’s currently on.
“Yes. I mean, everyone does,” Oba Femi said. “And I know now we’re trying to make NXT maybe a third brand by implementing the Transfer Portal. But yes, I’ve always — just because when I was young, I grew up watching SmackDown and RAW. And from my general understanding of progression in the game, you go from developmental to the main roster.
“And for that reason alone, yes, I will jump the window tomorrow. But I also feel like I have a part to play in elevating what NXT is seen as today. That’s why I want to win the NXT Championship, and represent this brand, and be the top guy, and show that professional wrestling is still a sport and all that. So, as much as I want to leave, I feel like I have a lot to offer NXT.”

Oba Femi on getting called up to the main roster
Fans have wondered when Oba Femi will be called up to RAW or SmackDown. Big E said he sees a main roster world title in Oba's future, but the NXT North American Champion is still focused on the present.
He appreciates the praise, but Oba Femi told WrestleZone that he is enjoying the moment and is focused on the now.
"I 100% subscribe to that. I believe very much in the now. In the moment, in the title reign. In the North American Championship, in the feud with Wes Lee, because that's what's going on now. Because when people start thinking about call-ups, they start to tunnel-vision their own progress," he pointed out. They forget about all the steps, and the corners, and the dips, and the highs that they have to go through to get to the end of the tunnel. And I don't like to do that.
"And as far as the fans wanting me to get called up soon, I appreciate that," he added. "I mean, of course, it is a good thing that people think of me as that caliber of talent. That is great. And I do believe I am too. But I believe in the now. I believe in elevating this title. I believe in making whatever feud I am in, the best it can possibly be. And I am all about making the next match better than the last."
