There has been some criticism of Dana White and Turki Alalshikh this week in boxing.

Anytime smart, powerful people do something new, that is normal of course — after the two announced some early details of a soon to be UFC like league and promotion in boxing.

You can already see how nervous some of the promoters like Eddie Hearn and others are getting already, that’s a good thing, competition is going to be outstanding and its going to take boxing to new levels never before seen since the golden age of the sport.

Turki Alalshikh since coming to boxing has been able to put on fights fans genuinely want to see and besides that — he is showing his knowledge and passion for the sport maybe more than anyone in the world at the moment involved in the industry — that says it all.

At one point in boxing star Canelo Alvarez’ latest press conference this week he even posed as a fan and a reporter when asking Caneloquestions himself — further showing his enthusiasm for the sport being genuine.

Boxing now has the likes of Netflix and many other new companies and countries and governments no less interested in staging big boxing events.

These are great things for the sport — anything that grows boxing is good — expect only big things in boxing from here on in.

Yes, boxing is flying at the moment commercially and as a sport but the good times, the new good times, have not even got started yet, and are on the way soon.
