Ouch: AEW Star Undergoes Back Fusion Surgery

Get well soon. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and some of them are rather serious issues that build up over time. You never know when you are going to see someone miss quite a bit of time due to an injury as someone might have a serious situation that is not apparent. That is the case with a current AEW star who has been out of action for quite a long time.

AEW star the Blade has revealed on Twitter that he is recovering from spinal fusion surgery. This comes as Blade has been out of action since February, with his last AEW match taking place on January 3. There is no word on how long he is expected to be out of action as a result of the surgery. During Blade’s absence, his partner The Butcher has been wrestling in singles matches.

Opinion: That is never good to hear and hopefully Blade recovers sooner than later. It could take quite a long time before he is able to get back in the ring and at 44 years old, it is unlikely that Blade is going to be able to wrestle much more in the first place. Back fusion surgery is rather serious in the first place and now all we can do is wait and see just what he is able to do.
