Two new fights announced for 'stacked' UFC 308 card in Abu Dhabi including another Nurmagomedov on the rise

As MMA fans digest the 'once in a lifetime' PPV event at The Sphere, many are already looking ahead to what should be an outstanding month of UFC action in October; a month dominated by not one, but two enormous numbered cards.

Whilst UFC 307 in Salt Lake City is indeed a fantastic fight card, the following PPV event in Abu Dhabi later in the month is far better and could even rival the insanity that was UFC 300 – especially with the addition of yet more bouts.

Two new fights added to the UFC 308 PPV card in Abu Dhabi

Following the bantamweight world championship title changing hands at UFC 306 this past weekend, there's some added excitement around the 135lb division – with two new bantamweight bouts announced for UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi.

The first new fight added to UFC 308 sees undefeated Afghan prospect Farid 'Ferocious' Basharat returning to action against promotional newcomer Victor 'Striker' Hugo.

Basharat is currently 3-0 in the UFC; two hard-fought decision wins over Da'Mon Blackshear and Taylor Lapilus, with a submission win over Kleydson Rodriguez coming between those bouts.

25-4 Brazilian Hugo made his way to the UFC via Dana White's Contender Series in 2023 and is currently 1-0 in the promotion – he is also riding an outstanding 14-fight winning streak with 17 of those 25 victories ending in a finish.

The second newly announced PPV fight sees yet another Nurmagomedov returning to the octagon, this time it's 18-3 prospect Said Nurmagomedov’s turn to shine on the dunes of Arabia.

The 32-year-old is 7-2 in the UFC, having bounced back from a decision loss to Jonathan Martinez with a first-round submission win over Muin Gafurov in his last bout.

Nurmagomedov is now scheduled to face 29-year-old Brazilian Daniel 'Willycat' Santos, who has gone 2-0 since dropping his UFC debut back in 2022 – including a second-round knockout of John Castaneda thanks to one of the most vicious knees of the year.

The UFC 308 is one of the most 'stacked' fight cards of the year

Next up on the PPV schedule is UFC 307, which goes down on October 5 with light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira taking on Khalil Rountree Jr in the main event – a tremendous clashing of two world-class strikers, but one that pales in comparison to the featherweight title fight just a few weeks later.

Headlined by Ilia Topuria vs Max Holloway, UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi is being called one of the best fight cards of the entire year; and it's not difficult to see why with such a stacked lineup of stars.

The fight order for UFC 308 has not yet been confirmed but with a grand total of 13 ranked fighters set to feature Abu Dhabi, it should be a night to remember in Abu Dhabi come October 26.
