Rose Namajunas vs. Erin Blanchfield headlines UFC Edmonton on Nov. 2

A women's flyweight bout between contenders Rose Namajunas and Erin Blanchfield headlines the UFC's return to Edmonton, Canada on Nov. 2 at Rogers Place.

UFC CEO Dana White announced the event and several bouts on the fight card during an interview with Sportsnet on Thursday.

"We're coming back to Edmonton, November 2nd," White said.  "We're going back to Canada.  I want to get back on a regular schedule back up in Canada like we used to.  It seems like we're headed in that direction.

"The main event, No. 3 ranked Erin Blanchfield will take on Rose Namajunas.  I think they're No. 3 and No 5 in the women's flyweight division.'

Blanchfield (12-2) had a nine-fight winning streak snapped in her last outing, losing to Manon Fiorot via unanimous decision in March.  Prior to the loss to Fiorot, Blanchfield last tasted defeat in Feb. 2019.

Namajunas (13-6) made her flyweight debut in Sept. 2023, losing to Fiorot by decision.  Since her debut loss, the former two-time strawweight titleholder has put together back-to-back wins.

White announced several other fights scheduled for the fight card, including the co-main event.  Heavyweight Derrick Lewis and Alexander Romanov will clash in the co-featured bout.  More UFC Edmonton fights are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
