Despite a shutout 30-27 victory across the board for Joshua Van at UFC 313, ‘The Fearless’ fighter still apologizes for his performance.

Van came up against late-notice replacement Rei Tsuruya on the night’s prelims. The undefeated Japanese prospect had been using smothering grappling to climb into the top flyweight echelons. Unfortunately for him, Van handed Tsuruya his first loss, stifling his grappling and working him on the feet.

Their fight was the featured prelim of UFC 313, marking Van’s biggest opportunity and a key rebound victory since being knocked out by Charles Johnson in July 2024. Even still, Myanmar’s Van is very critical of his victory.
