Jake Paul is set to meet with a former WBA boxing champ as speculation swirls regarding the polarizing star’s next fight.

Jake Paul is fresh off a decisive win over heavyweight boxing great Mike Tyson in his latest appearance in the ring. While the 58-year-old Tyson got off to a good start, Paul controlled the majority of the action in the ring, but that hasn’t stopped conspiracy theories from running rampant.

Paul is pondering his next move after defeating Tyson. He could potentially eye a rematch with Tommy Fury, who gave him his first professional boxing defeat last year. Fury is now available after withdrawing from his scheduled January bout against former UFC star Darren Till.

Paul, who has fought at cruiserweight for the majority of his most recent boxing matches, could potentially return to the weight class for his next bout. But, he’s allegedly set to meet with a former boxing star who is notably smaller in stature.

Jake Paul invites Amir Khan to a meeting to potentially discuss next fight

In a recent interview with Carl Froch, former light-welterweight boxing champ Amir Khan revealed he’s scheduled to meet with Paul and his management.

“His manager and Jake want to meet me in Abu Dhabi. He’s way heavier than me, I don’t think I’d ever step in the ring [at that weight],” Khan said. But let’s see what they say! All day, you take that fight.”

Khan was recently linked to a potential exhibition against Manny Pacquiao, although as of this writing, fight talks stalled. He hasn’t appeared in the ring since falling to Kell Brook in Feb. 2022.

After a blistering 31-3 start to his career, Khan took a massive knockout loss to Canelo Alvarez in 2016, falling short of the WBC and The Ring middleweight titles. Back-to-back wins earned him a matchup with Terence Crawford, in which he lost by sixth-round TKO.

A new opponent emerges for Jake Paul’s next fight

As of this writing, it’s uncertain if Paul invited Khan to train with him for his next camp, or if they’re brainstorming about making a potential fight come to fruition. If Paul faces Khan, it would likely take place at around 185lbs, a weight Paul fought at against former UFC superstar Nate Diaz last year.

During his boxing career, Khan was at one point one of the top fighters in boxing, earning memorable wins over Chris Algieri, Zab Judah, and Paul McCloskey. He won the WBA light-welterweight title by defeating Andreas Keotelnik in 2009.

If Khan is Paul’s next targeted opponent, it’ll arguably be his toughest test to date. Before defeating Tyson, Paul earned recent wins over Ryan Bourland, Andre August, and UFC legend Anderson Silva. Paul retired from influencer boxing, after having not fought a fellow influencer since 2020.

For now, Paul vs. Khan is merely speculative, although we could potentially get more clarity on Paul’s next fight in the coming weeks.
