It’s not just Song Yadong on Henry Cejudo’s hit-list this weekend, but a clique of controversial influencers who rubbed ‘Triple-C’ the wrong way at UFC 276.

Cejudo fights to keep his place in the bantamweight elite as he takes on division bogeyman Song Yadong in the main event of UFC Seattle on February 22. Now that it looks like UFC double-champions are a thing of the past, Cejudo is a dying breed, having pioneered the double-champ moniker by defending titles in two divisions simultaneously.

Despite his accolades in the Olympics and the UFC, Cejudo was antagonized by Full Send following his viral interaction with Sean O’Malley backstage at UFC 276.

“Is that Henry?” Nelk member Stephen Deleonardis remarked backstage at UFC 276. “Is his name Henry? Yo Henry, you’re a b—-.”

Cejudo hasn’t forgotten the interaction.

‘I’ll take them all out’ … Henry Cejudo warns ‘silver spoon’ Nelk Boys

Speaking with Full Send in anticipation of his fight at UFC Seattle, Cejudo warned the Nelk Boys not to replicate what happened at UFC 276.

“First of all, what makes the Nelk Boys famous?” Cejudo remarked. “I’m still trying to figure that out; they’re a bunch of little rich kids silver spoon little c—-. . . . They’re lucky they got Uncle Dana [White] and some of that squad to protect them… I’ll take them all out…”

Despite the trash talk, ‘Triple-C’ has a tall task ahead of him in Song Yadong. With a defeat, Cejudo will have lost three in a row and arguably won’t have another chance at finding a UFC title again.

Henry Cejudo makes one last title run at UFC Seattle

Former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov gave Cejudo a pep talk on how to win another UFC title in December 2024. ‘The Eagle’ retired on top with a 29-0 record, but sees a route for Cejudo to reclaim UFC gold.

In an interview with Nurmagomedov on his YouTube channel, Cejudo was given sound advice from the former champion.

"You know what you need?” Nurmagomedov told Cejudo. “A first fight at 135lbs and then you go [down to flyweight], first of all should be to bring your body back and when you win that fight, don't try to take long time [away], don't take a vacation.

"If you fight in February, okay then March you take off, and then April you jump into training camp and fight in International Fight Week for the title – can you imagine if you come back and win at 125?"

With UFC Seattle on February 22, it appears Cejudo is taking Nurmagomedov’s advice. However, Cejudo has to deal with stiff competition at bantamweight and the fact that he’s an aging fighter at 38 years old.
