"He's one of the greatest kickboxers" – Nico Carrillo on Sitthichai ahead of their showdown at ONE Fight Night 30

The Scottish Muay Thai wrecking machine, Nico Carrillo, is looking to make a statement at ONE Fight Night 30 against the legendary striker and former Glory kickboxing and Lumpinee stadium champion, Sitthchai.
With Nico coming off the brutal loss to the much-improved giant and the current interim ONE bantamweight Muay Thai champion Nabil Anane, who is coming in on an impressive and one-sided win against Superlek. Now, he’s hopping back into the fire against a difficult opponent in Sitthichai, who was able to score a victory over the current interim ONE kickboxing featherweight champion Masaaki Noiri. So, the “King of North” is taking another high-risk, high-reward fight against the Thai great.
In an interview with a bloody elbow, Nico Carillo sang the praises of Sitthichai, giving the legend his due respect.
“He is a legend, he’s an absolute legend.”
“He’s probably one of the greatest kickboxers of the modern era.”
Beating Sitthichai is a tall order for Nico Carrillo
Nico Carrillo is no hype job, already being a two-time Muay Thai world champion outside of the promotion. However, facing and being badly beaten against Anane and then moving to face another high-level opponent is a brave and, depending on who you ask, reckless thing to do for Carrillo. Many fighters often opt for an easier match-up to build their confidence and record before facing the hardest match-ups like Sitthichai. Not for the “King of the North,” however, as Nico is more than willing to risk it all for a shot at the biggest prize in all of Muay Thai, the ONE Muay Thai world title.
