From Behind the Camera, to the Cage at Oktagon 69 – Flying Uwe vs. Ediz Tasci

Let’s talk about Ediz Tasci vs. Flying Uwe upcoming this weekend. At Oktagon 69, two of Germany’s biggest influencers will lock horns in the Co-Main Event. With a combined 1.5 Million subscribers, the pair of YouTubers are not new to performing in front of a crowd, but this is certainly a different level. 15,000 people will be watching from inside the Westfallenhalle, as one of these influencers will get their hand raised.
Ediz Tasci vs. Flying Uwe
“Flying” Uwe Shüder is the only one of the two influencers who has professional fighting experience. Schüder had two fights in 2019, winning one and losing one. Schüder trained at All Stars Gym in Sweden, with the likes of former UFC-Title Challenger Alexander Gustaffson, as well as at MMA Spirit in Frankfurt, with the “King of Germany”, Christian Eckerlin.
“Der Breite” Ediz Tasci has had quite a stellar training camp as well. Tasci has trained with the likes of UFC Stars, Rafael Fiziev and Khamzat Chimaev in the lead-up to this fight. Tasci did the bulk of his training camp in Thailand, at Tiger Muay Thai, learning the art of Muay Thai. It will be interesting to see how a few months at Tiger Muay Thai translates to the OktagonMMA cage.
Both influencers have done an excellent job of documenting the grit and determination it takes to make it to Fight Night. While it started as a respectful build-up, both influencers have engaged in trash talk, and videos about one another on their respective social media platforms, however, that is the nature of building a fight. The pair of influencers, turned fighters, will certainly have a lot of respect for each other when it is all said and done, on Saturday night.
