Francis Ngannou has announced his next project will take him away from fighting.

The former UFC heavyweight champion hasn’t fought since brutally knocking out Renan Ferreira in the first round of his MMA comeback bout at PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants in October.

Since then, it’s been rumored that his next fight will see him return to the boxing ring after previously suffering a controversial split decision loss to Tyson Fury before getting put to sleep by Anthony Joshua.

While the search for an opponent continues, Francis Ngannou has announced a ‘new project’ that will divert his focus away from fighting.

Deontay Wilder provides Francis Ngnanou fight update

Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder called out Ngannou in November.

At the time, ‘The Predator’ appeared to be down for that fight, but it hasn’t come together yet.

In a recent interview on the ARIEL X ADE show, ‘The Bronze Bomer’ shared an encouraging update on his potential fight with Ngannou.

"Me and Francis, that fight, it still comes up. It came up two more times not too long ago," Wilder said.

"We're just trying to figure out how we want the segment to go with me and Ngannou. I'm definitely interested, he is as well. I guess it's just a matter of time.

"It's looking to be done, but it's just all of the details and stuff like that. I'm looking forward to that one, so stay tuned."
