Despite the deal arguably being one of the most significant of his career, questions are being raised about Canelo Alvarez's agreement with Turki Alalshikh.

The Mexican warrior is widely regarded as one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters of his generation. Having shared the ring with the best of them, the 34-year-old's toughest tests may still lie ahead.

While speculation continues to mount surrounding a potential Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford matchup, Alvarez's huge four-fight deal seems circumstantial.

As questioned by popular TV presenter Ade Oladipo, Alvarez's forthcoming fights may have no significance depending how his fight with Crawford unfolds.

"The four-fight deal is fantastic," Oladipo suggested. "[But] if Crawford beats [Alvarez]—are we really interested in Bivol? Are we really interested in Benevidez?"

Rumors have heavily linked Canelo Alvarez with a fight against the aforementioned Terence Crawford. While it's a bout that fans are desperate to see, it may not be next in line.

According to reports, Alvarez could welcome IBF super middleweight champion William Scull into the ring.

The pair are rumored to be heading to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 3.

Alvarez vs. Scull is being considered a spectacle that only adds to Alvarez's potential meeting with Crawford later on in the year.

Artur Beterbiev, David Benavidez, and a Dmitry Bivol rematch are all possible fights for the super middleweight ace, though it's heavily reliant on results.

"It feels like this deal comes with asterisks," Oladipo said. "If you beat him, if you beat him, if you beat him."

Before signing with Turki Alalshikh, rumors surfaced linking Canelo Alvarez to a Jake Paul clash.

While nothing came of it, Jake Paul and his company Most Valuable Promotions were adamant that a deal between both sides were almost complete.

Fans now sit in limbo for news regarding Canelo Alvarez's future in the ring.
