Timmy Cuamba had Roberto Romero rocked a couple of times in their fight at UFC Kansas City but a spectacular flying knee led to an emphatic second-round finish on Saturday.
Follwing a back-and-forth opening round, Cuamba really took over in the second after he clipped Romero with a well-timed jab that had him rattled. A head kick followed but somehow Romero absorbed that damage and kept coming forward but he wasn't as lucky after Cuamba uncorked a nasty flying knee that immediately dropped him to the canvas.

Cuamba followed him down to the ground where he continued to dish out punishment but the referee already saw enough and stopped the fight with the end coming at 3:55 in the second round.
"That was just thanks to my team," Cuamba said about his performance. "Going into the second round, I told myself it's time to be great and that's what I did. I noticed he kept ducking a lot so I knew he was going to be there."
It was a strong showing for Cuamba, who didn't get the results he wanted in his first two appearances in the UFC after dropping a pair of decisions.
This time around, Cuamba displayed a well-rounded skill set but more than anything he showed off a killer instinct once he smelled blood in the water with Romero hurting after catching him clean with a couple of nasty strikes in the second round.
The flying knee now goes on Cuamba's highlight reel after he picks up the first win of his young UFC career.
