    'This has 'disaster' written all over it' : Fans react to UFC White House reveal, biggest MMA stories of the week |

    The UFC continues to plan its trip to the White House and not everyone is optimistic the promotion will nail the landing.

    On Friday, UFC CEO Dana White unveiled a series of renders showing off what the proposed July 4, 2026, Independence Day extravaganza event might look like on fight night. Details are still developing in regards to how the UFC plans to overcome all the logistical challenges that come with hosting a show that will require top security, a worthy lineup of fighters, and a little luck in regards to the weather, but with President Donald Trump fully supporting the concept, it appears all systems are go.

    That said, not every fight fan is jazzed up for the historic occasion, which could still run into plenty of pitfalls over the next nine months.

    It’s great, it’s cool and I’m totally on board, but Dana can’t be this euphoric about an outdoor White House event, and then also speak so categorically about his hatred towards stadium events for the sole reason that they’re outdoor events.

    Putting Chandler on that card makes a bunch of sense business-wise and would also be the right thing to do for the UFC. Chandler still has name value and there aren’t that many US fighters who could fight for a belt right now anyway. So just put guys like Chandler or Max in for fun fights.

    If they really consider booking Conor they obviously need a replacement fighter, too.

    Gosh damn it.. this is going to be one of those wonky ass mma moments that make zero sense and Allen is going to win and throw RDRs title run away

    Props to RDR for taking anyone, but this is just an awful replacement fight for the division. While the fight will probably be well-matched early, I see RDR being just a little too much for Brendan Allen, especially considering he tends to fade after the second round. As much as Costa doesn’t deserve a big name fight like this, a win over Costa probably would’ve aided in building up the star of RDR and probably would’ve been just as competitive. All that being said, at least we have a clear next title defense for Khamzat now with Imavov very clearly being the best option barring an absurd finish from RDR.

    He couldn't resist taking little pot shots during Saturday's event, saying stuff like "I wish I'd been given more time" when the ref relented a little during Kelvin's fight.

    I get his bitterness, and it's his right to hold on to that, however unhealthy it may be.

    Bottomline is: he's not a professional. For anyone not Dom, if we continually brought up personal grudges in our professional life, we'd be out of a job. That's basically what needs to happen to him

    Dominick Cruz is incapable of sounding like a decent human being. He’s always got an attitude, a chip on his shoulder, a condenscending tone and a bitchy attitude. I wish he’d just go away.     Cruz is so classless & needlessly derogatory in ways that are always undermining the person’s dignity.
    He should have more respect for others, because the frequency at which he says this stuff (pretty much every time he has an issue with someone, which is perpetually) suggests to me that it comes from within himself.

    It’s not that he disagrees with DC, it’s that he said DC “didn’t take his job serious”.
    He doesn’t just not get along with Bisping, he calls him out for a fight & trys to make it personal.
    Same thing with Faber & Garbrandt.

    You don’t get to be this aggreived and this insulting because of an early stoppage or a disagreement on how to commentate fights or because Urijah signed a poster in a way he didn’t like.

    Fair enough. It was a bit early and that’s not good to repeat in the future or quite fair on Dom. Jobs should be done right and mistakes or missed opportunities learned from. Luckily he still has a huge legacy as a champion, so I imagine it was quite easy for him to not feel it defines his career. Unlike say Dom Reyes-Jones or even Colby-Usman 1.Think how driven and how much of a high-standard-haver Dom is. His entire fight style was very original and would have taken more dedicated solo thought and work than most fighters’ styles. As a commentator you can see he tries to do his upmost to research fighters (and occasionally chastises DC for not doing the same). It’s one of those traits that can be a clear strength in some domains but seem like a negative at other times.
