Week 6 NFL Survivor pool strategy with safe, value, trap picks |

-

If you're still alive in your Survivor competition heading into Week 6, I offer my heartiest of congratulations. Week 5 was an absolute train wreck for competitions, with nine upsets including most of the biggest favorites. The Cardinals blew a lead against the Titans, the Patriots stunned the Bills, and the Rams lost in overtime to a depleted 49ers squad. Bigger competitions will have plenty of folks, but any lighter leagues might already be coming down the home stretch two weeks into October.

This week brings a couple big-time matchups. The 49ers and Buccaneers are both 4-1 and square off in Tampa, while the 4-1 Jaguars host the 3-2 Seahawks. The week opens with a potentially spicy Eagles-Giants matchup on Thursday, and wraps with a Monday night doubleheader that includes Bills-Falcons and Bears-Commanders.

We're back for another week of Survivor picks with some safe, value, and trap picks. Last week, I was right calling Rams over 49ers a trap pick, but my Bills safe pick and Cardinals value pick both stunk up the joint.

On to Week 6 picks!

Safest picks

Packers over Bengals
Rams over Ravens

Green Bay is a two touchdown favorite over Cincinnati, and I can't see any way the Bengals spring an upset at Lambeau Field. LA is a 7.5-point favorite as of this article publishing and Lamar Jackson has yet to practice. If he doesn't practice, this is a safer pick. If you have both the Packers and Rams at your disposal, you could potentially use one this week and the other in Week 9 (GB vs. CAR, LAR vs. NO) — if you're still around!

Best value picks

Steelers over Browns

I don't like using divisional games, even this early, but I like this with pools quickly dwindling. The Steelers are coming off a bye and should give Dillon Gabriel plenty of trouble.

Trap picks

Broncos over Jets

This all comes down to not fully trusting Bo Nix. The Broncos defense should be good enough to secure this win, but I'm just not fully sold on this game. I'd save them for next week at home against the Giants.
