Scottie Scheffler can make FedExCup history with a win this week |

Scottie Scheffler is the best golfer in the world. Breaking news.
So much was made about Scheffler's 2024 season where he won 7 events, including a second Masters title, but I would offer that he has managed to outdo himself a year later… even if he only has 5 wins.
Consider that Scottie won two majors this year in the PGA Championship and Open Championship. Beyond the obvious-ness of those wins, he put himself a single leg away from the career grand slam this year. He added to the legend. Yes. It was more impressive than 2024. I stand by that.
Scheffler most recently added to his trophy case by taking home the BMW Championship, the final event before the Tour Championship at East Lake. Scottie is beginning the Championship as the top player in FedExCup standings for the fourth year in a row and he is looking to take home the title for a second.
This is where he can make a little bit more history.
You see, however you feel about it, in its history the FedExCup has never had a back-to-back winner. Scottie can be the first to do it. I don't know that I would place that higher than any of his career majors to date, but it certainly would be neat.
For what it's worth only Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have won the FedExCup on more than one occasion, a list Scottie would join with a victory.
If I had to guess… he is going to find a way to do so. That is simply what Scottie Scheffler does.
