Jayden Reed injury: What status means for Week 1 vs. Lions |

-

The Green Bay Packers continue to have injury concerns at wide receiver. The most recent is for Jayden Reed, who suffered a Jones fracture in his foot. But, Reed has decided to play through the injury instead of getting surgery. Rest is needed for the fracture to heal, so Reed likely won't practice as much as usual and will be listed as questionable, like he is this week.

He didn't practice on Wednesday and then was limited on Thursday and Friday. There is a chance the team medical staff holds him out, as Green Bay is usually very cautious with injuries. But, if the plan is to play through the injury and he hasn't had any setbacks, he may play as usual.

Reed is listed as questionable on the injury report to play against the Lions on Sunday due to his foot injury.

Fantasy football analysis

Signs point to Reed suiting up this week, but how effective he'll be remains to be seen. We would expect he will at least be close to his normal self, or the team would have put him on I.R. But, there is always a chance for a setback during the game.

Reed is a dynamic player, but doesn't get the usual usage of someone with his abilities. He has been the de facto No. 1 receiver in Green Bay over the last two season, but the lack of targets, just 71 last season (4 per game), makes him tough to start with this injury hanging over his head. This is also a late game, so we may not know his exact status until after we set our fantasy lineups ahead of the early games. I'd like to take a wait to see attitude on Reed at this point, but I also wouldn't be adverse to starting him if he plays and you need his upside.
