You obviously never want to see anything like this and it goes without saying that everyone's hope is for Charley to get well and to do so as soon as possible. She is one of the more magnetic personalities in the world of golf and her presence elevates tournaments in general, especially major championships like the Evian.
Sometimes the human body can only be pushed so far and it appears that this was the case for Charley during the tournament's opening round. She posted T12 finishes in her last two major appearances, the U.S. Women's Open and KPMG Women's PGA Championship, and it stood to reason that she had a chance of competing in France.
All the best to her in her recovery.
