The landscape of professional wrestling underwent a massive change on January 6, when WWE RAW made its debut on Netflix, marking its exit from cable television after a lengthy presence since its launch in 1993.
To clear up any misunderstandings regarding Netflix's role with WWE, Paul “Triple H” Levesque recently offered some insights during a discussion with Peter Gillibrand of the BBC.
Triple H stated that Netflix has "no influence" over the creative aspects of the programs. He said,
"We are responsible for creating the superstars and the storylines. We handle all of that while the audience watches."
The WWE COO further added that Netflix only determines "the duration of the show, the timing of our conclusion, or our airtime. Regarding the content of the shows… no one tells the NFL how to play football. They simply distribute our product."
