Over the years, there has been ongoing discussion regarding a potential match between Roman Reigns and The Rock at various WrestleMania pay-per-view events.

WWE almost booked the match last year at WrestleMania 40, but fans advocated for Cody Rhodes to finish his story by winning the Undisputed WWE Championship instead.

On Monday’s premiere episode of WWE RAW on Netflix, Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat match.

Following the victory, The Rock placed the Ula Fala around Reigns’ neck and embraced him. This happened after The Rock delivered a babyface promo and seemingly stepped away from his Final Boss persona.

While WWE was considering a match between The Rock and Rhodes for WrestleMania 41 this year, that will not take place.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that "the idea of Rock vs. Reigns we have been told by several is not dead, and they still could go to that in the future, perhaps Mania but the idea of somewhere else, particularly with the crazy money some places are paying fighters, that could also be an option."

As of this writing, The Rock’s in-ring return remains unchanged; he will decide based on whether he feels fit to compete, so there’s always a chance for him to compete at WrestleMania 41 in Los Angeles.
