Report – The Rock's Return Shakes Up WWE SmackDown

02/21/2025 01:30 PM
WWE has reportedly altered tonight’s SmackDown lineup following news of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson appearing on the show.
Originally scheduled for the event before The Rock's announcement were Drew McIntyre vs. Jimmy Uso and WWE Tag Team Champions DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) defending their title against Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson). WWE also announced a match featuring Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest, and Braun Strowman facing Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga.
WrestleVotes is reporting that The Rock's appearance has prompted major changes to the SmackDown lineup.
Naomi vs. Liv Morgan and the men’s six-man tag match will no longer happen as originally planned.
Moreover, The Rock will likely reveal the location for WrestleMania 42 on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, New Orleans is the frontrunner to host WWE WrestleMania 42 in 2026.
