The SmackDown tag team division has been in full chaos for the past few months—so much so that SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis had a segment on this week’s episode breaking down all the twists and turns and attacks that have happened along the way.
As a result of trying to make some sense of the pandemonium and restore a little direction to the division, Aldis announced that not only would The Street Profits face #DIY for the WWE Tag Team Championship next week on SmackDown, but that there would be a Triple Threat tag team match to determine who was next in line after that.
When in doubt, bring the whiteboard out. @RealNickAldis just broke down all the chaos going on within the Tag Team Division, and gave us a solution in the process. 👀 #SmackDownpic.twitter.com/VANpnZ0N1q

On this episode, Pretty Deadly were victorious over Los Garza and The Motor City Machine Guns to score that future title opportunity, wherein Elton Prince pinned Chris Sabin with a backslide for a surprising upset.

Of course, with the setup being what it is, we not only don’t know when their title match will take place, but who they’ll even face, as it could be Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa or Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford walking out of the Olimpic Arena in Barcelona next week with the gold in their possession. With WrestleMania 41 looming around the corner, Pretty Deadly could get their shot at regaining the titles on The Grandest Stage of Them All, but with several weeks to go, there is plenty time to come back around to having more teams get added to the mix as well.
