Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

WWE Week continues with its season premieres, and tonight’s episode of NXT is set to be a rather stacked one with several titles on the line and other important feuds and moments already announced.

My question for you today is “What are your predictions for tonight’s WWE NXT?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

TNA Knockouts Championship Open Challenge: Jordynne Grace (c) vs. ???

It was teased on Impact that Wendy Choo would be coming after Jordynne Grace. I’m hoping that’s not the case here, for a variety of reasons. First off, spoiling that in advance is lame, even if you try to make the argument that if you only watch NXT, you wouldn’t know that. Second, Choo just lost her bid at the Women’s North American Championship. Why would I or anyone else think she had much of a chance in winning this title?

I’d rather see Izzi Dame get this. That would help her character out quite a bit, as she can lose because she’s jumping ahead of where she actually is in her progression. In the meantime, if she puts up a good fight, it will show that she does have promise and potential.

No matter who fights Grace, though, Grace is surely going to retain. There’s no way TNA would be okay with the Knockouts title changing hands on NXT television.

NXT Tag Team Championships: Super Sonic Duo (Axiom & Nathan Frazer) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)

Curiously, The Rascalz have been pulled from this match. Why are The Street Profits the ones who will replace them? They haven’t said. My guess is WWE figured they’re a prominent main roster tag team and that’s good enough for the ratings.

Axiom and Frazer just won these titles back. How insane would it be for them to drop them AGAIN so soon? Thus, I have to imagine they’re going to retain, somehow, even though I feel like they shouldn’t in a kayfabe sense. All across the board, Ford and Dawkins are the more established, more accomplished, and better tag team. But they’ll come up short through some interference or something, I guess.

NXT Heritage Cup Championship: Charlie Dempsey (c) vs. Je’Von Evans

Again, this is a case where a title just changed hands so recently that I can’t imagine we’ll see a hot potato situation. That’s a big of a shame, as Je’Von Evans is super fun and would make for an interesting defender of this Heritage Cup. But his style doesn’t really fit the British Rounds concept, in my mind, so I don’t think it’s meant to be.

Does Gallus interfere? Maybe not, if they’re moving on to a new feud, possibly. Is it a No Quarter Catch Crew distraction or something instead that costs Evans? Maybe Dempsey just flat out wins clean, but I doubt it, even though the trophy is staying with him.

Last Man Standing Match: Trick Williams vs. Pete Dunne

This is an absolute certainty of a pick, in that there’s no way Pete Dunne wins this match.

The winner gets the next title shot at Ethan Page for the NXT Championship. Dunne is not going to be in that position. Not only will Trick Williams get this win, but I think he’ll win the title back, too.

Ridge Holland vs. Duke Hudson

Logic dictates Ridge Holland has to win this match in order to continue the momentum from his heel turn. A win over Hudson keeps Chase University in fight mode, and Holland won’t get his comeuppance until he fights Andre Chase himself.

Chelsea Green vs. Giulia

You can’t build up Giulia and have her lose her debut match, especially not to a comedic weasel heel character like Chelsea Green. This is happening to showcase Giulia’s maneuvers and style to a new audience so we can get hyped for her upcoming title match against Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship on the CW premiere.

What do you think? Drop your thoughts below!
