WWE Looking To Re-Sign Kevin Owens To New Contract; AEW Expected To Have Significant InterestJeff WhalenSep 19, 2024 - 9:23 pm

-- WWE has been attempting to get ahead of the curve and re-sign wrestlers well ahead of their contract expirations and it was reported that the company was targeting Rhea Ripley, Nia Jax and Liv Morgan as three superstars who they wanted to lock down before they hit free agency.

-- Fightfulselect.com not only confirms that report but adds that WWE has approached a "nuber of talent" about re-signing which is a stark contrast to recent practices when the company would wait until almost the very end before even beginning negotiations and Damian Priest was used as an example of a wrestler who as only re-signed days before his deal was up.

-- The report also adds that long-time WWE veteran wrestler Kevin Owens is another star who has recently been approached about negotiating a new deal. While Owens has not signed anything yet, communication has been made and his current agreement is believed to be expiring at the end of 2024. It is also strongly believed that AEW has "major interest" in bringing in Owens if and when he is available and should he hit free agency, will extend him a lucrative offer.
