News On WWE Raw Moving To Two Hours Starting Next Month; Program Length On NetflixJeff WhalenSep 10, 2024 - 11:59 am

-- As announced by Joe Tessitore last night on WWE Raw, the show will be reverting to two hours starting in October and presumably lasting until it finishes up on the USA Network at the end of the year. However, have wondered if there is a possibility that Raw will remain at two hours moving forward even after it's airing on Netflix.

-- Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that Raw will be moving back to three hours in January: "It's a three-hour show when they move back to Netflix. Yeah, I got it confirmed a few minutes ago. The basic situation is... it was a USA Network call, not a WWE call."

-- Meanwhile, PWInsider.com reports that because WWE's deal with USA for Raw ended at the end of September while their deal with Netflix didn't start until January, the company had no home for their flagship show during the last quarter. The quick deal with USA to keep Raw on for the rest of 2024 was for two years and the basic goal was to simply keep Raw running on a weekly basis while remaining a good partner to the USA Network.

-- The report adds that upon moving over to Netflix beginning January 5, there is no definitive word on if Raw will revert to three hours. Company sources have "played coy" when asked about this while some have suggested that when Raw is on Netflix, the company will have flexibility with the length of the show dependent on what is needed on a weekly basis. If the length of WWE Raw in 2025 will indeed be fluid week-to-week, that would obviously be a first in history for the long-running series.
