Lyra Valkyria Is Eyeing An Iron Woman Match Against Former WWE Women's Champion

Lyra Valkyria wants a challenge.
Over the last year, Lyra Valkyria has reached some notable feats, including NXT Women’s Championship and the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament. Looking ahead, Valkyria is eager to capture even more championship gold. Beyond that, Valkyria is also eyeing a rare match stipulation.
During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Valkyria revealed one of her short-term goals to be conquering an Iron Woman match.
“Obviously, I want to be the champion. That would be amazing, but sometimes I think about what would I absolutely love? And something happened the other day, I was like I’d love to do something like an Iron Woman [match],” Valkyria recalled. “I feel like that would be the ultimate trust. You think about the Bayley and the Sasha [Banks], incredible one that we had. I’d love to have something like that. I’d be really, really proud of that in my career if I got to do something like that.”
When asked about her ideal opponent for a potential Iron Woman match, Valkyria identified hers as former WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY.
“[IYO] is amazing,” Valkyria said. “I’ve been watching her since long before I ever even came to WWE as well. She’s so experienced and working with her is just amazing.”
So far this year, Lyra Valkyria and IYO SKY have faced off in three singles matches. The latest saw the latter defeat the former in the opening round of the WWE Speed Women’s Championship tournament.
