Lance Storm: I Think TNA Is Still In Really Good Shape
12/20/2024 01:36 PM
Lance Storm believes TNA has a bright future in 2025 despite all the impending departures.
TNA Wrestling producer Lance Storm was a recent guest on Figure Four Daily. When asked about what’s going on right now behind the scenes in the company, Storm insists that based on all metrics TNA is doing quite well.
“From all the accounts I have heard business has been going up,” Lance Storm said. “Our attendance has been going up, our TNA+ subscriptions have been going up, the views on our specials and pay-per-views have been going up. From all accounts I can tell, our business is doing well. Dave [Meltzer] talks about 'Well everybody's cold, the ticket sales aren't good.' Our ticket sales are currently the best they've been in my three years in the company.
“Obviously we're not selling out stadiums and arenas like WWE but per TNA, I've been there for three years now and the pandemic before that, this is the best our ticket sales have been in, I think, the last five years, probably closer to ten. So I think TNA is doing well.”
Lance Storm addresses upcoming departure reports
When asked about the recent reports that multiple talents are scheduled to depart the company in the coming months, Storm didn’t seem overly worried.
“The rumors that Josh [Alexander] is going to experiment with free agency and there's the rumors Jordynne Grace is leaving and Speedball Mike Bailey has finished up,” Lance Storm said. “A case can be made – and I don't want to shortchange the hard work and talent of these three individuals because they're obviously fantastic.
“But their success is also a credit to TNA for giving them a platform, booking them well, allowing them to grow and become these great performers. So if they do end up leaving, it's a credit to the company doing things well but clearly we don't have the deep pockets of a Tony Khan or a TKO. I think it's inevitable that the talent that we best get over and they get over, again I don't wanna take credit away from them, that's a natural progression.
“Others that apparently are finishing up, many of them we weren't doing much with so I think TNA is still in really good shape. I think we've had a really good 2024 and I'm optimistic for a really, really good 2025.” [H/T: TJR Wrestling]
