AEW star Julia Hart is a big movie fan, and she has incorporated several nods to some of her favorite films in both her character and various moments in her career.

Speaking to Variety in a recent interview, Hart — who is set to make her in-ring return on January 1’s AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen — opened up about some of the inspirations behind her recent vignettes, including the 2021 supernatural horror film “The Black Phone”.

"[Editor/photographer] Dani [Venen] picks up what I'm saying just like that,” said Hart. “Me waking up to the ringing of a phone, the idea at first was a letter, and Dani was like 'You love 'The Black Phone', why don't you do a black phone?' I tell her what I'm thinking, and she can make it 10 times better."

Outside of the world of horror, Hart also said she was inspired by films like Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill series, specifically the film franchise’s iconic music soundtrack.

"The 'Kill Bill' album," Hart said in response to a question about her musical inspiration. "I love 'Twisted Nerve' so much. I literally listened to it this morning. 'Bang Bang,' 'That Certain Female'… that whole album can put me in my character mood.

"I love the 'Kill Bill' movies because of how Beatrix holds herself. She's so badass. I love that. I love 'Wednesday,' obviously. Stevie Nicks, too. 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' in the Netflix series, how she has an attitude and she's sassy and she's young.”
