Joe Hendry shares a hot take.

As previously announced, Hendry is looking to solidify “I Believe In Joe Hendry” as the Christmas number one song of 2024. For five of the last six years, UK YouTube couple LadBaby has claimed the distinction with parody covers like “I Love Sausage Rolls,” “Don’t Stop Me Eatin,” and “Sausage Rolls for Everyone.” According to Hendry, though, sausage rolls aren’t that good.

“You don’t want to know [what a sausage roll is],” Hendry told WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard. “It’s from a store called Greggs. This is probably the most controversial thing I’ve ever said, much more controversial than my tweet from a few weeks ago, Greggs sausage rolls are bad. The steak bake, fantastic. Chicken bake, fantastic. Sausage roll, no. It’s awful. So there you go. That’s your headline. The Greggs sausage roll is awful. See that? I’ll lose my entire fan base. That’ll be the post that does it for me.”

It remains to be seen how Hendry’s pursuit of the Christmas number one will pan out. Meanwhile, LadBaby has withdrawn from the race, as they will not be releasing a song this year.

Beyond the Christmas number one, Joe Hendry is also launching a campaign for the Eurovision Song Contest, specifically with the submission of “I Believe In Joe Hendry (Eurovision Remix).” Hendry’s previously noted his plans to submit the song around February, just in time for the March 2025 deadline.

“It’s one of these things that takes so much work, but I haven’t even thought about it for a few days because I got Bound for Glory,” Hendry told WrestleZone ahead of his TNA Bound For Glory world title match. “There’s just so many cool things on the table that I need to accomplish.”
