Jeff Hardy Reveals His Most Frivolous Purchase That Ended Up Ruining His Home

Jeff Hardy might not have many regrets in the ring, but it sounds like he has one after buying a coatimundi that destroyed his home.

Matt and Jeff Hardy recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard, who asked what the wildest or most frivolous thing they bought was. Matt began, sharing that it wasn’t a frivolous purchase, but he was proud to buy their late father, Gilbert, a truck. He also said he’s purchased cars over the years, but also paid cash for his home — a real #MattFact.

"I bought a brand new car. I mean, as soon as we started making bigger money and doing good. So, I'd upgraded, bought a new car. I didn't go crazy though, because 'Big Money Matt' is kind of smart with his money. I kept setting money aside. And I had a house that I wanted to build, I knew exactly how much money I needed and I put all this money in one account to wait until I had it all, so I could just pay for the house all at one time," Matt explained.

"There's that Matt fact people always ask me about, 'Was it real?' 'Matt paid for his house in cash.' And it is real. Because I did. I saved up money, so I had it. Because pro wrestling is one of those things; you never when the ride's going to end. So, try and save as much as money you can," matt continued. "And make as much money you can in the moment. Because you never know when it is going to end, either between injuries or just your run's over, or whatever [the reason]." 

Jeff Hardy shares his most frivolous purchases

After giving it some thought, Jeff agreed with Matt that buying his own home was near the top of the list. "For you, it may have been buying your house. Because you're just like, 'F*ck it. I got money. I'm getting out,'" Matt said.

"Yeah. I got a nice little double-wide trailer, man. I was ready to be an independent human being," Jeff explained. "I brought a brand new dirt bike when I probably shouldn't have bought it. Because back in the day, I used to love to ride. But yeah, I would probably say a brand new dirt bike, where I really shouldn't have been on dirt bikes at all." 

Jeff also said he bought a new pet a few years ago, a coatimundi he named 'Imagi.' He was excited about it at first, but it ended up being more than he bargained for.

"In the early 2000s, when we were the young and hip guys doing the ladder matches, me and my wife actually bought a South African Raccoon named 'Imagi.' And I guess [I was thinking] I'm a big wrestling star and I'm from the Imagi Nation, it's going to really fit in at my home and be great for my wrestling persona as well. So, that was, that's pretty frivolous I guess."  

"Did it take care of your house pretty good?" Matt joked.

"Oh yeah, it did a number on our modular home," Jeff said with a laugh.

"It was constantly destroying the house every day," Matt added. "I was like, 'You have a monster. Oh my God!'"
