A number of pro wrestling figures recently celebrated and offered support for the International Transgender Day of Visibility, which came on March 31. Former WWE star Val Venis (real name Sean Morley), on the other hand, disapproved of it, labeling the transgender movement as "harmful to society.”

Additionally, Venis claimed (via X) that some on the political spectrum, specifically “leftists,” “vilify” him by calling him transphobic, a bigot, and hateful. WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green has since clapped back at Venis’ anti-LGBTQ+ remarks, asserting that she will continue to be an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

According to Gabbi Tuft, Venis has been a source of similar terms, specifically when addressing her, Nyla Rose, and Gisele Shaw, all of whom are transgender women.

“Val talking about people throwing hateful terms at him. Ya'll should see the garbage he has spewed at me, @NylaRoseBeast, and @GiseleShaw08,” Tuft wrote on X. “Can't remember the last time I saw someone so desperate for attention.”

Nyla Rose points out the hypocrisy in Val Venis’ remarks

Nyla Rose, a former AEW Women’s Champion, further pointed out Venis’ hypocrisy when he mentioned "entertainers [stepping] beyond their role in the entertainment industry to engage in political discourse." Nyla wrote, “Not that I agree with literally anything this bozo says, but ain't this dumb ass doing (and has been harassing us, specifically me for five years) exactly what he says we shouldn't do [laughing emojis]. The cognitive dissonance is outstanding. Delulu Venis,” alongside a screenshot of Venis’ X post.

“I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because not everyone is educated, however he has proven time and time again that he's just hateful will NEVER change,” added Gisele Shaw, a former TNA Knockout. “He's clinging on to the last bit of his relevance and he needs our platform to do that so let's not give him the satisfaction. I wish you well Sean.”
