Big time snooker returns to our screens on Monday with the start of the Shanghai Masters, where Ronnie O’Sullivan is once again the defending champion.

The Rocket has won the last four editions of the event and goes in as favourite to make it five on the bounce.

However, in a field featuring the world’s top 16 players there are plenty of candidates who are capable of stopping him, even in one of his favourite events.

It is a non-ranking tournament, but with huge prize money on the line and the chance to kick the season off in style.

When is the Shanghai Masters?

The tournament runs from 15-21 July. The first matches get underway early on Monday morning at 2.30am UK time.
