Judd Trump completed a stunning week at the Shanghai Masters with a brilliant 11-5 win over Shaun Murphy in Sunday’s final.

The former world champion knocked in three centuries in an impressive performance, although he was certainly aided by Murphy being out of sorts in the first session.

The Magician missed a number of chances, and suffered some poor luck, early on and found himself 7-1 behind at one stage.

He did keep scrapping and found some form later in the match, eventually making three centuries of his own, but it was too late to put Trump under much pressure.

Trump gets his hands on the Shanghai Masters trophy for the first time and pockets £210,000 for his troubles.

It was a superb run to the title for the world number two, who beat Mark Williams 6-2 in his opener and then Si Jiahui by the same scoreline in the quarter-finals.

The Ace then ran into the five-time champion Ronnie O’Sullivan in the semis and dismissed the Rocket in style, hammering him 10-3.

Trump made a tournament record 10 centuries on his way to the trophy in a stunning week for the 34-year-old.

Murphy had been brilliant on his way to the final, beating John Higgins, Zhou Yuelong and then fighting back from behind against Mark Selby in his semi-final.

The final was played the day after the sad news of the death of six-time world champion Ray Reardon, with the players and fans in Shanghai marking the passing with a moment’s silence.
