UFC Des Moines: Rare double injury scratches light heavyweight showdown

A rare double injury has left UFC Des Moines a fight short.

The promotion confirmed on Tuesday that the scheduled light heavyweight bout between Junior Tafa and Tuco Tokkos is off of Saturday's UFC Fight Night card this Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena due to both fighters suffering injuries.

Specifics to the injuries were not revealed, and It is expected that the matchup will be moved to a later date once both fighters are healthy.

Tafa is coming off of a second-round TKO win over Sean Sharaf this past October that snapped a two-fight skid, while Tokkos dropped a unanimous decision to Navajo Stirling at UFC Tampa in December.

As of now, UFC Des Moines moves forward with 12 fights, including the five-round bantamweight main event between Cory Sandhagen and Deiveson Figueiredo.
