UFC 320: Heavy-hitting knockout artist returns on Magomed Ankalaev vs. Alex Pereira 2 fight card

Ateba Gautier seeks his third knockout victory of the year.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion's plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Gautier is set to return to face Ozzy Diaz at UFC 320. The event takes place Oct. 4 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Léo Guimaraes first reported the bout on Twitter.

Gautier began the year with an eye-opening first-round knockout in his octagon debut at UFC Mexico in March against Jose Medina. "The Silent Assassin" recently competed at UFC 318 earlier this month and destroyed Robert Valentin in just 70 seconds to improve to 2-0 inside the octagon. The Contender Series contract winner has finished his last seven opponents.

Diaz makes his third walk to the octagon, and does so on the heels of his first UFC victory. In his most recent outing, the 34-year-old picked up a unanimous decision win against Djorden Santos at UFC 313 in March. In his promotional debut, Diaz was stopped in the first round by Mingyang Zhang at UFC Macau this past November.

UFC 320 is headlined by a light heavyweight championship rematch between Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira, while Merab Dvalishvili puts the bantamweight title on the line in the co-main event against Cory Sandhagen.
