Michel Pereira's latest trip to the octagon was unsatisfying, to say the least.

Abus Magomedov handed Pereira a humbling defeat Saturday on the main card of UFC Kansas City, with Pereira showing little of the flash and flair he's become known for throughout his career. Outside of a burst of activity in the final round, Pereira did little to threaten Magomedov, who cruised to unanimous decision with none of the judges giving Pereira a single round.

Making the loss more embarrassing was the fact that Pereira preceded his fight with an elaborate dance that had some fighters wondering if this contributed to his listless performance.

"Might be regretting that dance now," Alan Jouban wrote, later adding, "I appreciate Michele's walkout entertainment. But you can't put more energy into the dance than the fight."

It was the second straight loss for Pereira, who also fell flat in a main event opportunity this past October when he was dominated by top middleweight contender Anthony Hernandez.
