Khalil Rountree gives update after brutal knockout loss to Jiri Prochazka at UFC 320: 'I'm in good spirits'

Khalil Rountree Jr. was so close to beating Jiri Prochazka at UFC 320.
This past weekend, Rountree squared off with Prochazka in the feature bout of UFC 320, and through 10 minutes, the former light heavyweight title challenger was looking great. Using sharp defense and technical striking, Rountree built a 2-0 lead on all three judges scorecard heading into the final frame. And then Jiri went Jiri.
Prochazka stormed out in the third round, putting Rountree under heavy pressure, eventually breaking "The War Horse" down before brutally stopping him with just two minutes left. It was a disappointing loss for Rountree, but not one he intends to let weigh him down, posting his first post-fight statement to social media on Sunday.

UFC, nothing but appreciation for the platform and all of the staff that make it happen for us.
I'm here for a while, you will all see me in there again next year, and win lose or draw I'll always fight until the last drop.
This loss isn't easy, it'll take time to heal & learn from this but I promise you when I say that I'll never be the same again. See you in 2026
Joining the UFC in 2016 off of season 23 of The Ultimate Fighter, Rountree struggled to gain traction early in his UFC career but has been on a tear over the past few years, putting together a five-fight winning streak that allowed him to challenge Alex Pereira for the light heavyweight title last year. The loss to Prochazka drops Rountree to 10-7, 1 No Contest in his UFC career.
