'Damn, spinning elbows are in right now': Pros react to Diego Lopes' insane knockout in Noche UFC main event

Diego Lopes just handed Jean Silva his first UFC loss, and did it in style.

The pivotal featherweight matchup headlined the third annual Noche UFC event on Saturday at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. Silva took his sweet time getting to the octagon, soaking it all in — including thousands upon thousands of fans booing him during his walkout — while Lopes got a massive pop from the San Antonio crowd as he stepped into the cage for the first time since losing his first championship opportunity against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 314 in April.

After a dominant first round for Lopes, Silva started finding more success, landing massive shots in Round 2, including an insane spinning elbow that had Lopes in real trouble. Coincidentally enough, it was the same spinning elbow thrown, and landed by Lopes that was the beginning of the end, as the recent title challenger poured on the ground and pound until the referee stopped the fight.
