Belal Muhammad doesn't seem too concerned that a pair of former champions who are trying to get his attention during UFC 315 fight week.
While he's busy preparing for a title defense against Jack Della Maddalena on Saturday, Muhammad responded to a comment from Kamaru Usman after he claimed that the UFC would probably need security to keep them apart if they ran into each other backstage at an event. The bad blood between the welterweights has been simmering for quite some time and Usman said now that he's back in "the thick of it" with a fight booked in June, his animosity towards Muhammad would probably get ratcheted up if they crossed paths.
But it doesn't sound like Muhammad is too worried about a potential altercation.
"Who? The former champion on a three-fight losing streak?" Muhammad said about Usman during UFC 315 media day. "I would have to be afraid of that guy with no knees and no cartilage and a big head? Nah, I think I'll be fine."
Muhammad also addressed an infamous podcast episode that he recorded with Usman and former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo that never saw the light of day. The podcast reportedly got rather heated with Muhammad claiming that Usman got very emotional during the back-and-forth exchange and that's likely why the episode never got released.
"If you're a grown man and you start crying on a podcast and it's your podcast and you start tearing up, why would you want to put it out there?" Muhammad said. "Unless there's a really good editor that's going to try to clear it up, but I don't think they've got that much money."
Muhammad also fired back at former interim champion Colby Covington, who also attempted to get under his skin when he visited the UFC Performance Institute this week.
In a video posted to social media, Covington laughed about hiding Muhammad's pre-prepared food while calling the reigning UFC welterweight champion a "f*cking bum"

Covington, who is currently riding a two-fight losing streak with his last win coming against Jorge Masvidal back in 2022, was proud of his antics but Muhammad was quick to remind him that he's fighting in Montreal this week and not in Las Vegas where the UFC Performance Institute is located.
"He hid my food? I'm not even in Vegas," Muhammad said. "That's how much of a moron he is. I don't know what he's doing.
"These guys are like YouTubers now. Kamaru's a podcaster, Colby's a YouTuber. They need to do a podcast together — the biggest losers."
