Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos didn’t need much time to finish his UFC Fight Night 247 fight, and his celebration was perhaps flashier than the fight itself.

In the penultimate preliminary bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, dos Santos (25-8-1 MMA, 11-4-1 UFC) made quick work of the previously undefeated Zach Scroggin, who stepped in for his UFC debut as a short-notice replacement for an injured Nicolas Dalby. Dos Santos recorded a TKO finish by punches at 1:15 of Round 1.

The strike that led to the finishing flurry didn’t appear to be all that devastating at first, but it caused Scroggin (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) to fold over and cover up. Dos Santos quickly capitalized, unleashing a barrage of punches until the referee stopped the fight.

The victorious welterweight returned to the center of the cage to celebrate, living up to his nickname “Capoeira” by displaying his skills in the martial art, flipping around the octagon.

With the win, dos Santos returned to the win column for the first time since a split decision win over Abubakar Nurmagomedov last June. After, he drew with Rinat Fakhretdinov and lost a decision to Randy Brown before recording his first finish since 2019.
