The main card of the Octagon’s return to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas featured two bonus-winning finishes at 155-pounds.

March 8 may have centered around Alex Pereira’s clash with Magomed Ankalaev for the light heavyweight title but the highlights of the night came courtesy of the lightweight division.

Mauricio Ruffy’s wheel kick knockout over King Green stole the show with one of the best finishes that fight fans have seen in quite some time.

However, later on in the night, another rising contender in the same weight class also earned the biggest win of his career to date with a crafty submission.

Ignacio Bahamondes submitted the #13-ranked Jalin Turner who seemingly retired immediately after the bout.

Igancio Bahamondes earned a top 15 ranking after submitting Jalin Turner

After arriving in the UFC via Dana White’s Contender Series in 2020, Igancio Bahamondes lost a split decision to John Makdessi in his debut.

He bounced back in style with Bahamondes producing a stunning wheel kick knockout over Roosevelt Roberts before showcasing his submission skills with a brabo choke win in his third Octagon outing.

Whilst a three-fight win streak was brought to an end in August of 2023 where he was beaten by L’udovit Klein, the Chilean once again finds himself on a run of three consecutive victories.

This run has been different though with the 27-year-old really hitting his stride as a serious contender at 155-pounds.

He was always a dangerous finisher but ‘La Jaula’ now has earned a first-round finish and performance of the night bonus in each of his last three appearances.

With the welterweight champion Belal Muhammad in his corner, Bahamondes is rising quickly and at UFC 313, he locked up a slick triangle choke to submit Turner before telling Joe Rogan in his post-fight interview that he dreamed about winning the fight this way.

Following his win, Bahamondes has now earned a spot in the top 15 rankings at lightweight with his UFC 313 opponent making way.

“I knew I was gonna submit him. I told in the interviews that I was gonna submit him in the first round and I did… I just feel it. I had a weird dream one day again and I dream I submit him and it was the same shorts so I say okay, I guess it’s him.”

Igancio Bahamondes shared a great moment with Belal Muhammad

Welterweight titleholder Belal Muhammad has been a huge champion for Ignacio Bahamondes during his recent winning streak.

The two training partners have clearly developed a great relationship along with massively benefitting each other in the gym.

In a video that came out after UFC 313, ”Remember The Name’ was able to do more than congratulate his sparring partner after an impressive showing.

In a touching moment between two close friends, Muhammad gave Bahamondes the news that he had pocketed another bonus.
