15 years after their original UFC clash, Rashad Evans and 'Rampage' Jackson will step into a boxing ring to fight each other again.
After several months of teasing and date changes, a rematch between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans is finally official.
Jackson and Evans will box each other at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 12th as part of what Signature Punch Promotions is calling ICS Mania 1. Also on the card: Diego Sanchez, who will be facing fellow former UFC vet John Makdessi.
"Rampage" made things official when he uploaded the fight poster to Instagram, joking "Why they make my face look dirty?"
Jackson and Evans originally fought at UFC 114 back in 2010 as the culmination of their coaching appearances on The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights. That season was a high watermark for the show and also happened to feature Kimbo Slice in the competition. Evans would end up winning the fight 29-28 on all three judges' scorecards after taking a tired Jackson to the canvas in the latter half of the bout.
"Rampage" has been teasing a rematch for over a year now, and there were several rough dates floated for late 2024 and early 2025 before this April 12th date was locked in. Most recently, Rashad Evans had to come out and publicly refute advertisements that he was part of the GFL draft, stating "The only commitment I have is to lay [Jackson's] ass out in April!"
Jackson hasn't fought since a 2019 TKO at the hands of Fedor Emelianenko in Japan, while Rashad Evans returned from a 5-fight losing skid in 2022 to defeat Gabriel Checco at Eagle FC.
As for Diego Sanchez, he hopes to bounce back from a fourth round doctor's stoppage loss to Austin Trout at BKFC's Knucklemania 3 a year ago.
