Ten Countries Confirmed for 2023 Irish International Youth MMA Tournament

The second edition of the Irish International Youth MMA Tournament is fast approaching as the Irish Mixed Martial Arts Association (IMMAA) continues to grow and expand the competition. The two-day event will take place from December 9-10 in SBG Ireland HQ in Dublin, Ireland, with the competition set to break last year’s participating number of countries and competitors. 

In 2022, athletes from England, Estonia and Ukraine travelled to compete in the inaugural competition, with each country securing a medal position. 

This year will see over a hundred athletes from ten countries partake in the competition, with Brazil, Netherlands, Wales, Hungary, Ukraine, Finland, Poland, Estonia, and Switzerland all making the trip to Dublin. 

The large number of teams and athletes competing will give youth athletes a chance to compete in an international competition for the second time this year.

Some of Ireland's 2023 World gold medalists, Roman Verhoeven, Kayden Dalton and Katie Power, are all set to compete, along with world medalists Taisto Teivil Kängsepp (Estonnia) and Yeva Buzhenko (Ukraine).

A highly anticipated rematch from the World Championships final will go down between Katie Power and Yeva Buzhenko after both fought to a close split decision back in August, with Power taking home the gold.
