Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson explains the ruleset that would need to be in place for him to beat Jon Jones

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has opened up on a ruleset that he believes, if implemented, could lead to him emerging victorious in a fantasy rematch against Jon Jones.

The pair of combat sports legends first went head-to-head at UFC 135 on September 24, 2011, with ‘Bones’ emerging victorious via rear-naked choke.

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson reveals the ruleset he believes he’d need to beat Jon Jones

In his astonishing career, Jon Jones has cemented his place as one of the best athletes in UFC history.

With a remarkable fighting IQ and formidable athleticism, the American has used his array of fearsome strikes to dismantle a plethora of top-level fighters.

He’s also made waves with his fair share of rivalries, with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson being one of his greatest foes.

Now, ‘Bones’ is set to defend his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 on November 16 inside Madison Square Garden, New York, USA.

After finding out the fight was official, Rampage made a laugh out of the situation by suggesting he’d help the challenger with his preparations.

In an interview with the Schmo, he said: “I need to help Stipe go train,” to which the interviewer, asked: “For real?” This prompted Rampage to confess: “I’m joking. Me and Jones we’ve got respect for each other. I got mad love for him.”

The former UFC champion then suggested that if a special ruleset was to be put in place, he’d have the skills to claim revenge over Jones.

He added: “I dapped him up, we cool. We took pictures. I posted it. But Jon Jones looks older than me. I think I could take Jon Jones now. I’m joking. I don’t know.”

“He looks like a heavyweight. I think I could take Jon Jones now. What do you all think? I’m not retired. I could come out of hiatus and fight Jon Jones. If I can have them put in a rule: no oblique kicks and no eye pokes, I think I could take him.”

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson says Shannon Briggs would never fight him in MMA

While a return to the cage against Jones is unlikely, a showdown with Shannon Briggs within the realm of MMA has even less chance of coming to fruition.

The pair of legends have been going back-and-forth for years, with a boxing showdown scheduled for Qatar, falling by the wayside.

Sadly, according to Rampage, there’s no hope of rescheduling the bout for inside the cage.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, he claimed that even $10 million couldn’t convince Briggs to come into his sport.
